Ive just bought a starview 3 box. I'm trying to set it up at home (In Republic of Ireland) and having some trouble. I have some experience with the Starview 2 so im not a complete n00b I have loaded the GTR 8.0 firmware onto the box. I scanned for channels and turned EMU on. All the channels are showing up black (even the FTA ones). I have also removed the splitter from the line before I scanned but it hasnt helped. Any help would be much appreciated.
I just tried that. Scanned and all the channels tuned in but its the same as before, they show up black and when it says its updating it never goes past 0%. Very frustrating. Is it possible that its something to do with the connection in my house ? My starview 2 worked fine for over a year but then stopped working...maybe its something to do with the signal.
Yep that could be a problem But yet you say you have scanned in all channels. Have you pressed the default key also and see if it updates with your key emu on? Do you subscribe to a provider?
Whats 'default key' ? Yes I'm with NTL. I suppose I'll just have to bring the box to a friends house and see if it works there. Very frustrating though
Posted quite a bit Press menu, type 1570 on remote, make sure key emu is on. Press default key and exit out to Sly sports 1 and see if it updates.
If you cant even get FTA on both boxes it looks like a cable problem at your end. Do as you said and try it elsewhere and see what the outcome is.
Some channels work on the starview 2 but not all. All USED to work. The cable works fine when its run through the NTL box so dunno if it is a problem with that...
i had same problem on another box as it did not update did all the usuall, changed channels, set default key, powered off box/on,and finally went to bbc1 and it updated.much much longer to get unit to update than usual.
Yes, tried that on both SV2 & 3. If it turns out to be a signal problem, is there anything that I can do ?
there seems to be a few boxes not updating 0% a little bit more effort needed to get it to shift lol,u busy too hiteck?
Dont mind me I am just having a laugh, but I do apologise if I get stumped once in a while The OPs problem is an entirely different matter. BTW there are a few boxes taking longer to update yes, but they are mainly UK based. This is due to some CC network upgrades. Nothing to do with the boxes themselves. And a good evening to you too HiTeck
