Hi guys, I'm new here and have just bought a Starview 3 box and updated it to the latest version using the RS232 cable. Problem is I cannot get the RF cable output to work as my TV will not pick up a signal at all. Outputting via Scart works fine. Any ideas?
Ok I am trying to picture what you have, you have 2 coax cables one from your box on the wall going into the box and another one from the box to the TV, you should also have the scart from the bottom input to the TV... press AV 1 on your TV or whatever AV channel you are using is this the set up you have?
or try this coaxial to cable input starview-output to vcr-out of vcr to tv or cable input starview output to tv lol
Yep I have the cable wall input to the cable in on the SV3 and then a co-axial cable connected to the cable out on the SV3 to the TV. It works fine using the Scart but I want to use the co-axial cable output on the SV3 instead but it won't work at all.
Hey i have a starview box as well and have exactly the same problem. I can confirm this is my second box and i did not have this problem with the first one. Both Boxs had the latest Software rev which was only swapped out yesterday? The problem appears to be no Output Signal via the RF Cable output or the RF TV out (Both Coax outputs) However the tv input scart socket is the only bit thats sending out a signal hence the tv appears to be ok. I need another output source so i can view cable in another room. Maybe its one of the settings on the box? If you have found a solution please let me know "ravibhamrah@hotmail.co.uk" TIA if Anybody can help ???
I found a solution (the rf modulator was a Mercury one - just do a search on ebay for "rf Modulator") I have this up and running and works a treat Has scart in and out, so main tv can still be scarted. You put scart OUT of your digi box and scart In to the modulator and then scart OUT of modulator and IN to scart in main tv. rf out of this modulator is then put to my aerial booster/splitter and feeds about another 4 rooms very well. Also have plugged in normal outdoor aerial to the rf IN on the modulator, so on other tvs you can tune in the normal stations ( BBC1 BBC2 ITV etc) and tune in, say, Channel 6 for the digital signal and what is transmitted from your digi box (whichever you have) is then transmitted to channel 6. At a guess, but have not tested, you could split your N*L cable and put one split into the modulator rf IN and use that as an aerial to tune in the sep channels. I find this useful, as when say family is watching something digital, i have choice to watch a "normal channel" i.e. corrie on ITV I have set the modulator to transmit its digital signal to C21 - as I believe this is not used. All you then have to do is tune in channel 6 to C21 on all your tvs and it will be transmitted there. Hope that all makes sense
your rf probably don't work because its on the wrong settings, you need to press your menu button, go to setup, scroll down to modulator and change from pal-g to pal-i, then scroll down to rf channel and change to a setting of your choice i.e. 60 or 38. regards dmtony
