hi im new here and im new to digital tv. I searched these forums for an answer but no luck, hence the me thread. basically I got a "the box super" last week. I loaded the firmware 6.01e on to it. Did a scan on a ch***s line. Picked up channels. Then switched to a scrambled channel and turned on emu key in hidden menu. Happy days! today the box went a little crazy. Now i am aware from other posts that the codes for ch***s changed. But for several hours today the box would auto update every half an hour. It must have re-rolled or updated about 6 times today. I could watch for about 30 mins, then it'd update again. since i have this box only a few days and this is prob the first code change i encountered, is the multiple box updates normal or what can I do? Thanks for your time.
Hi How do you know its updating? I have a SV TheBox PVR and I don't see updates happening. Are you sure the box is not rebooting its self? If it is re-booting may be a faulty box, you could try downloading then reloading S/W in again in case of corruption in S/Ware transfer. jbvid
Damo2k its the process that the CC's use that causes the box to 'freeze' if you skip channel and then come back it updates within 30secs I Cant complain about my one once you understand what yiu need to do to bring it back on and whats more thede boxes are the source of the codes that we have all been availing of . So i must say that with everything new it has its fauls but just wait and someone will perfect it!
jbvideo. It says "scrambled channel" then "updating data" Takagi, if i understand you correctly, this is something the cable companies are doing to try and freeze the boxes. This was happening when I wasn't changing channels or anything. Is there any to prevent the box doing multiple updates after each other?
@Takagi & Damo2k Hi I have a Starview TheBox PVR with 4.506 Oct software in it and mine doesn't break up or show any updating problems on screen at all. Try switch off an pull power plug and retry. Maybe ThBox Super behaves differently. jbvid
Thanks JB for that Info- But 99% its like yours its just when the Codes Roll eg: they rolled 4 times during each Champs League games but while i experienced a pause the Super box did goto %600 on 1 of those rolls to update itself - while the Euvox was almost instant but then the reverse was true on a later roll. Im Thinking there are different types of key rolls... Unfortunaltely the firmware for yours is incompatible with the Super By the way Pixelating I know is due to reception Quality & or connections used - My Earlier reply to Damo was purely to do with the screen Freezing / Code updating
