starview 3

    Hi guy's first time on' just bought a starview 3 box but most channels
    come up scrambled or bad channel have not got a clue about these things i bought box in pub guy assured me it would be ok but it looks like i bought a dummy

    Make sure you have to correct codes for your area.

    this may sound really dumb but i thought you just plugged it in and done an auto search

    box might be freeview only,see if u can switch emu on,menu1570.key emu to on and exit 3 times,if that does not work come back.

    I have the starview receiver connected to the TV and all is OK except for a few channels that I can live without. My question is if my Hard Drive DVD recorder can be connected so that I can record some of the many channels. If I can achieve this I'll be in heaven

    i think u need 3 scarts
    tv-tv starview,dvd-vcr starview,dvd-tv ,i think that is the way.

    thanks i tried this but it didn't work. i've been told that there's no way that the channels can be recorded. A pity coz then I could put good stuff on my itouch

    works for me all the time 1george1
    Recording from tv to digi boxes.

    scart from ext 1(rgb) on the telelvision to tv scart on the digi box,scart from ext 2 on the tv (cvbs svideo)to ext1 (tv) on the dvd player, ext2 on the dvd player to vcr(dvd) on the digibox.

    I second Karl :) I record from my SV all the time with no problems

    thanks celtic71, karlid and cactikid you've given me new hope. am i right thinking that after connecting I have to autotune the dvd recorder. Will the dvd recorder take the Starview channels? Presumably the channels have to play through the dvd recorder in order to be recorded onto hard disk or disk?

    i record tv through my starview useing my samsung dvd recorder.i use coax cable to join the two up,signal cable goes to dvd recorder
