I have bought loads of starview 3's and set them all up no problem. But my latest batch are'nt updating after the installation. Just stays at 0%. Im in Ballinteer in Dublin operating of NTL. Anyone else experiencing this lately? Im on the 8.00 version. I changed the firmware to the 7.09 version and got one box to update, not the firmware update wont work on the other boxes and Im getting the FLASH FAIL message or whatever it is. Anyone know how to sort this. Previous updates for me worked fine.
hi im having the same problem. the box is flashed but the box wont update. its a starview 3 with beta7.09. i have tried the turning the box off and back on, set default key, turn EMU off and on etc but it is staying at 0%. i have left it for hours now and switched to another channel but it remains at 0% any ideas?
I got some to update on when I went to Sky Comedy. Someone else told me Sky Sports 2 did the job. Its all very dodge, beginning of the end maybe!!
I am also having the same problem as mccarrd2. I have just received a batch of starview 3 boxes and I can't even flash them. I just keep getting the flash update fail message. This problem has never happened to me before with previous boxes. Any ideas ?
the reason is there is a lot of cheap batches going around, as the dollar is so crap at the moment sellers are using cheaper and not so good boxes to make profit, these bad ones will not take the version 8 on them does not matter how much you try unless you start from version 6 then 7 then 7.9 then 8 and you need to do a scan on each time you flash it and then turn on emu and set default key first, then reflash it with the newer version, this takes time and effort and a big pain in the bum but will work this way, they will not take the latest version if you dont do this, also version 8 is playing up too now on these ones to get round this factory reset, scan etc as normal, turn emu on and set default key, then exit and delete every other program you dont watch all the rubbish and just leave the main channels on and delete the security message too. hope this helps but its your supplier buying crap.
Cheaper boxes are generally cloned. There is talk of batch buying here so I presume we have sellers here and not just individuals. So you folks must be aware of what you are buying before passing them on to others. Jay regards flashing these type of SV3's it has nothing to do with starting at lower revisions and scanning on each one and then factory reset at each level........you could build a box by then. Cheap EEPROM = the problem you have.
yes i no, but this is the way round it, i done it for others and works ok, they should be ok with this method. other than that just take it back but i warn you as soon as you try to flash it out goes your warranty as they will blame a corrupt flash, easiest trick in the book. you have been robbed you can try v705e thats working ok
If they use the T&C loophole of this has been flashed. Just put the FTA firmware back on. Then it hasn't been flashed
but then they will say whats the problem with it ???????????? how do you no it wont flash if you not tried it ???????????? no win situation with them, best just short it out then return it broken
