Starview 4 Firmware

I have just bought a Starview 4 the Box and don't know which firmware to load onto it ??

Any ideas which ones awork best at the moment

If its the b0x super USB, then these are the firmware you need.
v1.05 for Ireland
v1.06 for The uk

You`ll find the firmware in "The b0x super usb " folder in eamos library under my sig.

 

I think you should install 1.03 and put in keys when they change. I'v had mine 2 days and its already giving me a head ache. If you using it for FTA, then any software will work. But for any other reason, both 1.05 and 1.06 are bugged. You'll find you'll either lose the picture or sound on any channels that use the key code. The only way around this is reboot the box. You'll end up doing this all day until you'll probably blow the box completely. I hope the writers of the firmware know about this. Because in my opinion so far SV1 is still the daddy in the SV range. You can't even sort the channels, coz its greyed out, like you need some admin rights to allow you to sort the channels.

 

where can i find v1.03, i've had probs with v1.05 and v1.06 regarding sound and picture but i cant find v1.03

 

If you want 1.03 no problem but its FTA only firmware

Thats prob why I cant find it lol, found every other one apart from v1.03 or v1.04, I've had various issues with the latest fixes, sound sync, picture erratic whilst recording, EPG problems so I was just trying other firmware to see if it will fix the problems I'm having, you got any ideas??

I've gone back to v1.05beta for the mo

I've tried v1.06beta but am still having sound,picture, EPG and recording probs, dont no what to do now, wait for next f/w release a suppose, how do the manufacturers get to no about these issues?

 

They are told if its an issue that the majority are experiencing, but I have to say this is not the case. The firmware is Beta as such.

Did you do a factory reset after flash, then turn the SV4 off from the back switch for a few seconds then back on? Then scan again and turn k*ycode back on?

BTW are you using a memory stick or external HDD?

I understand that it's beta but every f/w update seems to be beta.

I,ve also done the factory reset and the rest checked cable connections etc, it works dead on most of time.

I can record onto my tv, it has an inbuilt hdd but I,ve got no way of getting it off there so I thought having a usb connection and putting an external hdd would be a good idea,record one channel onto sv4 with ext hdd and watch another channel on tv and if need be record that one to but onto tv hdd.

I had a sv2 before and just recorded onto tv hdd, but I,ve gave that to the outlaws now.

As the queer one says boys and their toys lol.

I use usb stick only for the updates and I've tried a couple hdd for the sv4 to record onto.

Looks like am gonna have to play around with it for the time being, if I find anything I'll let you no.

If you are still having problems with it, (as I know of one or two), send it back to your supplier under warranty. If they are a good supplier they will replace it, if they dont let us know

Some use the T&C loophole of if it was flashed they wont take it back. Easy thing to do is put 1.03 onto it as thats what it is shipped with. If its not in Eamos, (I think it may be), just shout.

I'll have a play for a bit see what happens then I will prob send back to supplier, my concern was the f/w flash as I can see them saying 'no can do, you put other f/w on it' so I would need to put FTA f/w back on, which I aint got now and cant find in EAMO's, some advice on finding v1.03 or can u PM it me.

i too an after the fta firmware for starview super usb its not in eamos usb files.can someone tell me where i can get the fta firmware from.many thanks and happy christmas to all.

I have the same problem as Jok with 1.06. There aren't that many people yet who have SV4. So only a few who have are finding these problems. If we make a racket about it here and on other forums, I'm sure we'll get noticed.

 

thats what i think as well.the problems that are found with the sv4 usb should be posted and hopefully will be addressed through updates by the people in the know,but the main concern is the loss of picture but sound is there on $ channels and needing a reboot to fix.this is not going to do it much good keep switching off and on all the time to correct the problem.posting faults also alerts other sv4 usb owners that others are having the same problem,and the fault maybe not a faulty box.
but lets all remember its still in beta at the moment and hopefully the faults will be addressed in future firmware releases.

Bit the bullit and ordered a starview 4 usb and can I hell get the bugger working

Followed everything on the posts 1.06-factory default-emu on......and so on

Can anybody help
