I changed channel on my starview 4 and a message came up saying you are using invalid box so i changed channels and it was still there so i thought i would switch it off and back on. Now ive switched it off it wont come back on. It has no numbers or lights on the front but i know there is power going to it because when you turn it on the colour changes to a different shad of black. Any ideas?

    You'll need an rs232 cable.

I think I can use the thing that plugs into the box then use a serial lead like with the other boxes but im not sure if it would work or not.

u probably got that warning message that is seen on all the dodgy boxes as u dont see it on a cc box, wondering if cable connector is loose on front led as this is known to happen with rough transport.

Thanks, Just wondering what might have caused it though because it was working fine after I put the newest update on Sunday and I hadn't touched it all day today and then when i changed a channel it comes up with invalid box.I wish I hadn't switched it off.

could be loose connection as he says if he turns it off and back on it goes a different colour maybe try open and have a look at the plastic fittings are pushed down all the way

you see the plastic fittings push them down firmly and see will that work if not you will have to send back to supplier
