starview 4, no epg, can anyone help

Hi all,

Got the starview 4 (the box super usb). got it up and running a few nights ago and it was fine, I got all channels and full epg.

Since yesterday, the epg is totally gone. If I press epg now I just get a list of channels but no program info whatsoever. Even pressing the info button on a channel just brings up that channel name, again no info about the current program etc.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong, and how do I get epg back ?

Switch it off from the back switch. Turn it back on and give it a minute, EPG listings will then populate.

Happens now and again, small glitch in the firmware, no biggy. But they are aware of it

I have a starview Super USB 4 Box and have an issue with no EPG its blank the channels are there. I have to occasionally switch OFF the box to retrieve the channel as I have a blank screen sometimes is this normal?

No EPG is a pain - I have firmware 1.01 BETA i believe.

My signal strength is about 60% and excellent quality is this the issue?

Theres always been problems with the starview EPG.
Flash the b0x with the v.102 & see if thats more stable.

I have tried switching my box off using the switch at the back and the EPG still doesn't appear and I have tried this several times over the last few days.

Can anyone help?

You should have at least firmware 1.05, where is your location that is alright for Ireland, but if you are in UK then you need the UK A/U fix, you will find the firmware in Eamo's FTA Library at the bottom of my post, and the EPG has never been brilliant on the Starview range, but you must have the correct time set on the box.

 

This now supercedes 1.05 UK Fix. In Eamos now.
There is new firmware for the Starview 4 USB it V1.06 Beta


As per the release notes:

Please note this is a public beta release.
This is for the Autoroll problem in the UK
And this is the latest file to be released
Sorts out the EPG problem as well for recording

thanks scouser for the update.still has a few issues,but then again it is beta atm.
