    Hi guys

I'm new to this forum, just joined today!!

I visited family the other day and my dad and brother were showing me their Starview boxes now I would like to get one myself.

I currently have SkyHD and I'm sick of them ripping me off every few months by putting the subscriptions up.

I have cable internet and cable telephone, do I need to subscribe to cable tv to get the starview to work??

Also, does anyone know of anyone in the Liverpool area who may help with installation?

    Cheers

    Hanley

p.s Great site, how I haven't found it before now is beyond me!!!

You need a cable feed into your house and when you need help setting it up all the info can be found here.

Yes the basic VM package will do. Regards the PVR you only need one cable feed as it has a dual tuner, as do all PVRs, this allows live TV recording.

To be honest I have heard both good and bad reports regarding the recording facilities of the Starview PVR, so you will need to make that desicion yourself sorry.

    Cheers for the help Scouser

One last question, can you use a magic eye with Starview??

Currently we have SkyHD in the living room with an extra digi box in the main bedroom which is magic eyed via the RF out to the conservatory.

Is this set-up possible with Starview?? Obviously I'd need 2 boxes.

I cannot be 100% but as the Starview does have an RF output it may work, sorry I cannot be more positive as I do not have that setup
