starview box 2 - can the keys be updated automatically

Hi guys and girls, been reading a number of threads on the forum and have managed to update a starview 2 the box for a friend, put version 4.51 on it. I then self updated the keys and everything is working fine. my question is does 4.51 update the keys automatically everytime they change? or is there another piece of software i have t put on the box to do this? I usually only have had dealings with DBOX2's which don't seem to have any problems. I would rather sort this know instead of my friend constantly bringing the box back to me when it needs updating. Thanks in advance as from what i have read you people are very helpful.

 

The short answer is YES, it should autoroll the codes.

You say you put 4.51 on it, so I assume you are in the UK, as there is a different version for Ireland, 4.50.

 

Yeah thats correct mate, so issume it should update itself know, if from what i have seen it seems like a good cheaper alternative to the dbox.

Also does the starview PVR run on the same software and are they any good as i think the functions of the box from what i have read would come in very handy.

 

not sure about the firmware for the starview PVR
I am assuming u are looking for a 'box' which has a recording fascility ? I know of a far superior receiver for that purpose ,

There has been no code change in the last 5 weeks as we are aware of but the codes are at the bottom of my post under codes ok

 

i have the new keys thanks.they are B8 59 DF CF 32 DD 87 6C 3B D1 37 03 07 60 30 6A

5B 27 8C AF D0 1E A5 A6 D7 74 3B A6 B4 21 17 97 if this is helpfull.

 

Where are these keys for as there is far to many numbers there

 

these are the tv keys to program sattilite tv,i guess,i dont know i only get the keys for my boyfriend,he does the rest, but here are the latest, 4d,72,c7,59,38,fe,2d,sf,1d,97,2e,64,68,80,4e,and 23,

 

Yes they are no good here they do not work on the boxes here too many numbers sorry about that

Right so them codes will not work on this side of the world you will need to find the thread for the USA as these are for Ireland and the UK thanks for your help anyway best of luck with your search

 

This what i did to get all the Channels, i am Dublin Ireland

Go to INSTALLATION
Select correct provider NTL
Then AUTOMATIC SCAN
Once the channels are found, exit back to the blank screen
Press MENU (ignore what is on the screen) and press 1 5 7 0, this takes you to a secret menu,
Go down to EMU and turn it on.
Now exit and wait for it to store all the data.
