starview box 3. cant update

    i have a starview box 3. i have a cable to update and a cd but no instructions. i put the cd in my computer but the files cant be read. wen the box is plugged into my computer nothing happens. noting is detected (the box is switched on) i dont no where to get up dates or even no where to start. plzzzz can any 1 help me

    ok out of that choice what do i need to download and how do i get my computer to pic up my box

    click the box super then download the box super fix GTRom_Super_8[1].02e_081129.zip

    plug the cable in and run GTRom_Super_8.02e then click download and wait for it to complete

    Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
    (The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

    Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used

    Make sure App file only is selected, then click b1n File & browse to the firmw@re where you downloaded it to on your PC.

    Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC.

    Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE p0p up on your PC before removing the NULL MODEM CABLE.

    The Starvi*w will then reboot

    Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV :)

    just make sure app file only is selected then click download.. you dont need to do the other steps

    my computer isnt picking up the box, i think thats the problem

    your computer isnt meant to...have you tried opening the file GTRom_Super_8.02e and clicking download to see what happens?

    yes after 10 seconds it comes up flash update fail

    lol think its my laptop thats playing up, what i meant to say in my previous post is, you right mate forgot it was the mk3.

    have you got the right com port selected? if your not sure just try all 4...i dont think it can cause any harm

    other than that where did you get your cable from? are you sure its the right one

    yeah done that it only works on com 1. on the other is comes up with a cant open port warning

    does this software work on starview 1 or only starview 3?
