Starview box need help....

    I have been given a box to update it is silver in colour and has starview wrote on the front of it(nothing else),i need to update it.i have beeen told it is approx two years old,i have the null modem cable(i would be more familar with the eurovox).....help.....

    hey im having a problem with starview super, was all working fine until this morning, i can go onto all channels and sound is generally ok apart from a bit of skipping but the picture is just all over the place by that i mean it is all scrambled, when i press menu i cannot see any of the menu ( all i can see it the blue backround that usually comes up behind the menu) any help greatly appreciated

    Hi.. I am also having some problems! I have Te Box Super and eventually today got the coreect cables. However every time I try to update it rmains at 0% and I get the message Flash U[pdate Fail!!! Any advice appreciated! Thanks

    That's great honky, well done!

    @macnaxos, what do you mean by the correct cables, if you are using vista and usb i would recommend finding a friend with xp and just using the null modem straight, it's much easier.

    You did extract the bin file with winrar after downloading it?

    I extracted using winrar and got GTRom_Super_8.04e file. I have tried with XP and serial cable. Same result. Is there a way to check if the serial port is functioning? I am also going to try with an earlier firmware GTRom_Super_709eBETA, just to see! I read that somewhere that this might help. I know I am close! Any further suggestionn welcome . Thanks
