    Hi,

A friend of mine bought 10 starview boxes which we flashed following the advice from other posts. All have worked perfectly but one box now has a problem.

The user plugged the box into a non-active cable line and the box is dead. No power at all.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Box has no power and does not appear to switch on. Can I flash a box with no power?

Box is not a clone (purple packaging and matches description of genuine including remote). I've put the same firmware on this box as I have the other 9 and they've been no problem. The firmware I put on was the 400e.......

    Thanks

Sorry for taking a while to get back as I said previously the boxes are not mine so I had to check. There are 13 slots on the box. It plugs into the wall with the standard 3 pin plug.

Not sure if it's me your referring to fergusrb but the person who owns the box's mother died yesterday and I thought it sensitive to wait.

Yes it was sorry to here about that but it would be nice for you to say to someone ya not got box at present will get back to you and not having members posting to you and getting no reply

Anyway forget about that you have a first generation box so what is the problem with it i think you said that it was dead is this correct if so can you check the fuse in the plug and let us know if ihave it wrong what the problem is thanks

    ok point taken thanks.

Fuse has been changed with no effect. Box worked perfect until it was plugged into a non-live virgin media line.

make sure that one wasnt a clone first
    check it here http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon/
u may have got one thrown in !
If its not a clone maybe by plugging it into a dead cable could have killed it ( not sure, but looks that way). It may have done damage to the bootloader. only a jtag can bring a dead box back to life !
