    HI

I've just purchased the box, i completed the autoscan and its now showing 176 channels, all scrambled except for 2. I've read other threads but i'm unable to access the secret menu to switch on the emu. Tried factory setting 1668, turned off and auto scanned channels still will not allow me to access secret menu from 1570.

    I have a 25x7 vents and it's API Ver 2.60, Boot Ver 7.0 9th Apr 2007.

    Would really appreciate your help.

P.s i'm a totall novice to all of this.

    Thanks

You need to update the firmware to allow you view all channels are you in the UK or Ireland?

Sorry but yes you will need one. I will tell you what you need either way to get you going once you have it.

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null modem info here

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info here

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos FTA Library.

You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

You will need version 4.50 firmware found in "The Box" firmware folder. There are later firmwares but they are a bit buggy use this one for now.

And please download the Starview PDF guide,(similar instructions as to "The Box" guide), this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
