Starview box shows Scrambled or Bad channel. HELP

iv had my starview box for about 12 months over the last few months iv updated the software to version 4. And changed the codes a couple of times when iv lost channels as recommened by the seniors. The prob is my channels show the bad / scrambled channel every 10-15 minutes while im watching them. Is there anythin i can do to fix it?????

 

What are your general area and provider details?

 

Also do you have a clone or genuine box

18 cuts on top ==clone

13 == 1st generation

25 == genuine


just in case you have the wrong firmware on your box as you cannot use v4 on clone it will kill it ok

Hi guys, I'm having some trouble with a number of stations freezing up.... some music & childrens channels mainly Magic, Bubble Hits & Nickelodeon... tried a factory reset and searching the channels again, also tried a manual scan aswell ... is there anything else i can try or do i just learn to live with the problem ??

 

Are u using v4
If so , its a prob in your area. u may want to look at some freq for those channels
click on me name and go to the 'main starview thread'
scroll down the page and try some

 

the box is a genuine starview as iv loaded the V4 software and its not killed it. My provider is telewest and its the liverpool area.

 

better off flashing it with v451 ( uk)
should solve your problem !

 

i need help! i am scanning buy not getting all the channels (sky sports etc.) some i do get, and sone $ ones i do get. i do a manual scan to try and get them but it doesn't work.

any advice or shall i just call an expert round to my place to fix it?

You do realise that you are getting the best help available here, from people who provide it free of charge in their spare time. Getting cheeky won't solve the problem, just supply all the information when asked, and people will help.

 

i don't understand you. i appreciate everyones help so what were those words for? i was serious about asking someone round to my house to fix it if no one here can sort out the problem. lots of people have been helping me but there still is a problem. so there is nothing left, you just have to take it somewhere or get it seen at your house.

you will have to do is a factory reset code is 1668 press ok then turn box off
wait 1 min then turn back on then press ok to the language then into installation
put your provider in there which is NTL ok down to auto scan let it finish doing the
scan do not stop if you see some come up as failed that is not a problem just let it
carry on when it has found all the channels exit out back to menu press 1570 down to EMU
and turn that on exit exit exit and you should be sorted ok let me know how you get on ok

yes for you make sure when you do factory reset you turn off the box for about 1 min then carry on again ok

 

Whats the difference between the v4.00 and v451 software for the starview box? and were can i get the v451 version?

 

if you are in the uk it is alright to use this only the v4 had problems with freezing channels and when it was turned off the EMU would go to default which is off so the v4.51 was brought out to fix this problem

 

you said change it to NTL but im on TW so...?
