youll need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F which you can get on flebay or maplins,
If your pc does not have a serial port, you`ll need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.
    (flebay or maplins again)

    FIRMWARE & SOFTWARE
you`ll need the CrypStar-V1.4 genuine only firmw@re in the sv folder.

you`ll also need the GTRom loader, found in the sv softw@re folder.
These can be found in eamos library here:

found this on another thread worth looking at, Ok first excuse is that I have a labyrinth of cables and plugs behind my tv. In fact I had maxed out so I had to pull one plug to find a socket for the starview plug. So I thought I will not need the ntl digital box so plugged it out. Now…mmds set up has a little downcoverter that takes the aerial in and the tv coax out. Now and here’s the thing…..this downcoverter has the same power source as the ntl box. So basically I was putting a dead coax cable into the starview. Hence "0 programmes found". See embarrassing! :)

Make sure you have the correct coaxil cable plugged into cable input on the box, make sure your scart is connected properly ie into tv scart on the box,are you sure your n@l nd not ch@rus as this box wont work on ch@rus mmds, also make sure your emu is turned on press menu and then 1570 and see is it set to on.
