Starview Box?

Hi All,

I was after some advice, I am thinking of buying the starview cable box and have a few questions:

1) which box is best to buy, i live in bucks and my cable provider (b4 i cancelled years ago) was cable n wireless.
2) Also, which boxes can be reprogrammed? and what does this mean?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, very sorry I am very new to all this and not great technically...

 

So you have no service provider?

You have to pay for a basic service before you can use a box.

 

Am i still payiing for subscription? No I switched to sky years ago, however wen i connected my old original box again, i still recieve the free standard chans such as bbc news, qvc etc... is this good enough? i thought so, or do i need to subscribe with v gin again...? many thanks

 

yeah you have to subscribe to a basic service otherwise you wont get any thing other than free to view!

 

hey thanx for the quick reply, so the basic (cheapest) package shud suffice....?

 

Just the basic cable package will do (not the digital package)once theres digital in the area.

i only have a broadband connection and still get full hit all signals are carried on broadband, boxes just decode them
