starview box

    Hi I wonder if anyone can help me what cables connect to the box is it just scart and service provider cable telling me it found 180 channels but coming up as scrambled havent a clue really a friend just said "you just plug it in'I tried the code 1570 is this the code for every box, this is driving me crazy

    u can try menu1570 if that does not work box is freeview only,it will need to be flashed/updated with firmware.

    So I think I need to update the firmware would this be right I only bought the box this week. I really havent a clue next question is I live in Cork is the firmware region specific I am useless with all this

    I take it its the starview 3 ?
    press menu > system info & tell us what it says please.

    You need to update the firmware.
    Flash it with the 7.09 Beta, which you`ll find in eamos library (in "the b0x super" folder) under my sig.
    All the info on flashing the b0x can be found in the second link under my sig (updating firmware, cables etc)

    Thank you so much it all sounds fab but I am blonde and clueless I would need to read what you said a million times and I probably still wouldnt get it.Ill start here if I find the right firmware from what you said I connect to my computer with the serial cable that came with the box and will i recieve prompts....

    Im sorry I calmed down and I was able to get the firmware you said I pressed download now but after 9 sec it just said the file you are looking for is not available I am on a mac does that matter, thanks again for your time

    Maxi, you`d be better off getting someone with windows (preferably xp) as mac wont recognise the firmware.
