starview box

Ive had my starview box for approx 18months now. Since Friday i seem to have lost all my sky channels, when i go to a channel it says data being updated, it seems to freeze on this. It starts on 0% then keeps updating upto 130% then the channel info comes up but it then starts to update again. I've tryed doing an auto channel reset but the same thing keeps happening. I'm at a total loose end!! I dont have the box, instructions or pin codes as it was my ex that bought it and we have no contact now.
Can anyone help me please? its driving me crazy!!

Linzie... try it on the discovery channel or sky movies... if it doesnt click in then turn box off for a minute or two then back on .. it might click in this way!!

I've just switched it to a sky movies channel- the programme came on, then it froze and went to bad or scrambled channel. i changed the channel down 1 then back to the sky movies and its back to the data being updated.

 

Ok try the on/ off for a minute..this should work!!

 

I have just tryed that and the same has happened, came on for a few secs then went to bad or scrambled channel, this time it stayed at bad or scrambled channel but has started to update data again- do u think i will ever get this bloody thing working lol?

 

Ok Patience LOL.. wait a bit, try different channels if all fails you can reflash the box, as a last resort!!

 

is there a firmware update comeing for starview 1?
as this would sort out linzi2012 also

Yep I think a few of us are waiting for one.
Linz if 1-5 are working but the rest are off your in the same boat as most people with a starview 1.

Does anyone know if there's one on the mend.
Must be just us makems left with the decrepit kit. lol

 

firmware is what the box runs on. Once the new firmware comes out for starview 1 (which is the one you have) you will be able to update it and the box should run as before.

 

Yeah channels 1-5 are working aswell as cbebbies, only prb is my daughter like dora the exploria on nick juniour lol!!
Can this problem be resolved or will i need to get a new box?

 

if they release the new firmware then it can be resolved

 

Where would i get this new fimware and how would i no if it comes out?

 

We have to sweet talk some of the guru's out there to sort one out for us.
Unfortunatly for me i think there all blokes so i haven't got those assets.
