hi does anyone know how to get channels back on these boxes mine has frozen on the menu screen. thanks
Turn the box off at the back leave it off for a min or two then turn it back on,see what happens. If the channels still aren't coming in,press 'Menu' and enter 1570 look down the list it brings up and check that 'Key EMU' is turned on.
Sounds like it could be a bad flash-have you tried to up date it recently ? and is it a genuine Starview or a clone ? Count the vents on the top on the box to see: 18 slits x7 rows = clone 25 " x7 rows = genuine
Ok you'll need to try and re-flash it.To do this you'll need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F. You can get info on the cable here. If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable, you can get info on the adapter here. These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay. All firmware can be found in Eamo's library click on this link to get to it: http://eko.4shared.com/ You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link. You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for your clone S******w which can be found in firmware folder. You should also download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link. This may bring your box back for or or it may not it could be dead. On the other hand you could buy a genuine S******w and save yourself the hassle- LOL.
does anyone know where to get gtromloader version 4.00. dowloaded it but does'nt come up!!!!!!!!! helllllllllppppppp
Are you using the correct null modem cable similar to this one http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6
Is it similar to this one http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor and as said the correct cable must be a null modem one as it has a cross over pin out.
Only way you can tell for sure is to use a multimeter and bell out the pins. If pin 2 goes to pin 3 for one end of the lead to the other you have a null modem cable.
