hi guys, hope you can help me out here!. have starview box, looks original, 25 vents, scart on right looking from front, but runs software version 2.57e, boot 7.0, aug 2006 , which i take means it's a clone, so i updated last nite to the "clone safe" fix. ran fine for two hours, even auto updated when the keys were rolled!!, but, after the two hours or so passed it went bananas!. now it reboots every 10 minutes or so, sometimes doesn't come back on lest i switch off and on at back of box. did i use the right software? should i just take it out back and bury it? drivin me nuts!!!. thanks in advance for any help you might give.

Flash it with crypstar 1.4 core 4.00 instead if it's genuine. It sounds to be genuine.

thanks for the quick replies guys. tempo, that's the file i used alright, and karl, i've checked lots of pictures like the one you posted and my box doesn't look like a clone, in all the pictures of clones i've seen the scarts are always on left as you look from the front. my scarts are right where they should be.

It's definitely a genuine box use crypstar 1.4 as karl says. That should work.

yep its nearly always genuine with the vents and scarts being right but i would always double check the inside which you`ve done 100 percent genuine hope that sorts the problem if it does then 257 doesnt always work right on genuine boxes
