Starview broken

    Hi my boyfriend usually deals with these things but I'm desperate so will give it a try! Bascially our starbox froze and then just switched off and we cant get it working since. does this mean it is gone for good? I have heard people mention firm ware but don't know what this is ?! Thanks a mill !

    What did you do to it :) Does it say anything on the front display?

    That's what he'll say! There is a weird symbol on the front like half of the number 6 and a dot beside it

    I know thats why I said it :) Sounds like the C11 capacitor has gone, easy enough to fix have a look here http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/725/svcapfixpnggv2.png
    It says use a 10V as a replacement change it to a 16V as the pic is a bit outdated. The capacitor only costs a few pence.

    So do I just ask for a 16v capicitor or a c11 capacitor - sorry such girl !!

    The existing one will do , remove then replace as instructions :)
