Starview Clone Bricked Need Repair in East Midlands

    Hi all just updated 2 starviews with a supposedly safe firmware and my clone starview has diedm does anyone in nottingham repair via jtag clones?

    i would try myself but i cant solder at all

    try reflashing with the correct firmware for the sv first ... if the flash fails to start then turn off the sv, begin he flash procedure, count to 3 and turn the sv back on.

    you might need to do this several times but it will eventually work

    yeah the starview wont turn on now although i do hear a little pop but no display, is it still worth trying to install the correct firmware, when i tried to connecct earlier it wouldnt let me, ie came up as a fail

    Check the C11 capacitor on the PSU board.

    hmmm sounds ominous ... could be a tag scenario or a bad capacitor as per sc0user's post.

    if jtag is required, i've sent you a link in your PM my friend ...

    you can only do so much sc0user ... then it's up to them. Sadly most don't listen and you get to see the results ...

    yeah i waited and found the thread where someone claimed a working version, pity i didnt carry on reading , so no one to blame but myself, i usually am more careful, never one to jump in too soon, looks like this will be a costly lesson.
