starview clone maybee, or eurovox

    hi just got told i wasnt to say help on the subject matter, anyways one of the members told me to post it in starview or erovox thread i hope im doing this rite im a very new to this forum, ok im looking for an id on this box so i can update it for a freind,

    See your other thread was closed.Its an FTA 101. The predecessor to the original Starview. You can use the latest Crpytstar firmware on it and flash it as you would a genuine SV1.

    Not really, i'm prob older than u and haven't got a clue about the older stuff, cos I only got my first box last October. You could be one of those whizz kid teenagers that know everything! lol!

    hey scouser thanks for ur help dude, does tht mean its a clone of the star view?? so it will be ok to flash the box without it bricking, i cant thank you enogh for helping me m8t, thought i was gonna need to give up there for a day or two happy days ma freind

    Not a problem I would recommend using the Cryptstar257 as I have seen it working fine on an FTA 101. I know the genuine firmware works as well but I have seen the 257 work with my own eyes.

    Wish I was a teenager :) See you in the safety valve alright. His thread was an innocent mistake and he edited it, thats all really, pity he edited it to that title though.

    Wait until you have it fixed first :)

    Now looking back at the photo it looks like a Digivox? But I will still hedge on the side of the FTA 101. See I am getting confused now :)

    Easy way to find out is to go to menu and system info and post what it says. Sorry for the scare but I like to make sure things are right.

    i will do tht scouser thing is i tried conecting to my telly throw scart lead, but no signal, i know its working on her set up she must have it conected throw avi video leads or something, will get back to post when i contact her about set up. better safe than sorry m8t, can understand how you feel about doing it rite, will maybee need to go to her house and find out what it says on system menue

    LOL even on closer inspection it could be a Dreambox, does it have an ethernet port?
