Starview - Clone or No Clone?

Hi Guys,

I just checked system information on my parents box and here's what I got:

Starview

API Ver: v4.00e_E
Boot Ver: 7.0
07 Jun 2007

It has 7 columns of 18 vents

The Starview is working but auto-update is not.

Have they an Original Starview or a Clone?

I'm in Ireland on N*L.

What Firmware should their box be on?

 

18 vents = clone
25 vents = genuine
13 vents = 1st generation

vents are the slits on the top of the box from top to bottom

left scart = Clone
Right scart= Genuine
if your certain its a clone you need this on it to autoupdate

But I read in another post that 18 vents doesn't neccessarily mean it is a Clone:

My parents box also runs with V4.00e_E.
Is an 18 vent Starview definetly a Clone?

I'll open it up tonight and have a look inside at the motherboard to confirm.

 

i'm not being smart but its been known to happen make sure you have it unpugged
