hi i have a cloned starview when i turned it tonigh t all i get is a flashing on the screen and showing a sreies of colours with no picture or sound. i have reinstalled the fimware and no change can anyone help????
sounds fooked to me, prob a number of things gone wrong with it, me, I would bin it and get yerself a genuine new one, a Superbox or Euro
yip, sorry to say, but a clone aint worth spending a pound on, unless its a basic cap gone and you have the tools and know how to fix it, if its more than that, I would sell it for scrap, cuase if it goes again and no firmware is released (which I highly doubt) then your gonna have to open the wallet anyways
your probally right . i have replaced a cap before when the power was gone could it be the same cap as i have replacement. iwould try it on last time
if its a cap then happy days, but if your talkin jtag, then nah, sell it on ebay as some one would take it for parts
usually its the C21 cap, but your guess is as good as mine, if it aint that, its could be another C11, if not that it cold be the board is just shot, its a clone box and aint made with the same stuff as an original box
just had a quick look at the caps and they all seem ok. ur right the box is possibly crap can you suject a replacement box that will work in dublin
depending on your wallet, but the SV3 or Eurovox ( I find the SV3 more user friendly) or the new Sv4 which is capable of recording live TV via the USB port on it, connect a 4gb USB or 8 GB mem stick and you can pause live TV! its a bit dearer than the SV3, but in terms of pic quality, its better, EPG is good also
