Sounds like its not connected properly to the TV, you need a coax from the Provider and a Scart to the TV< then you should see something!!

Sounds like a hardware problem Des, worth having a check of the C11 cap.
Worth having a look here courtesy of Celtic thanks to scOuser, check the image and have a look inside the box, it is only 3 screws and cover slides off, (Remove from Mains Supply of course) 3rd post down.

Sid .. it seems that that is the problem, whether or not they are blown or bulging, it might not show, if you look at the thread I gave you,it tells you what to get, they work out about 50p each, its really a process of elimination at this stage!!

Sid99, It is the best way to go at the moment, when you say 8 is showing on the display, we are presuming that it is a single digit? if so then it has got to be an hardware problem, otherwise it would show 0008 (four digits). Now which is it.

LOL just change the cap as said and then you'll see :) BTW the picture hasnt been updated in a while negate the removal of the C21, just do the C11 and change it to a 16V 1000uf cap, (says 10V in pic).

This is the one you need Part No. VH50E

Yes it should revert to its previous state. Although if you havent flashed it with Cryptstar257 I recommend you do so after the cap change.

Agreed, Not doubting you for a moment, but it is the way to start, it needs eliminating I'm sure you would agree, I am just assuming it is going to work with the one digit on show that it is an hardware fault, so that is where I would start.
