starview codes

hi im here in dublin,i bought a new starview box,but i cant get into the menu,ie when i press 1570 nothing is happening,does anyone know if they have a new code to get into it,or do i need to flash my box as mentioned in this site,i can get the euro chls,but other channels wont come in,cant access menu to get into the emu.any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

can you acess the main menu and se what the system info is?

 

yeah i can access all that,the system info is apl ver 4.54 boot ver 7.0,and the date is 22oct 2007

 

I would put 4.50 ver on the box or alternativaley you could try the ver 454eE,has it got ver454e or 454eE?

 

i dont know how to change the versions on the box,can i change them

 

look back into the main menu system info and tellme is it ver454e or 454eE

yeah you'll have to put new firmware on the box either 454eE 0r 450 i would put 450 on,but first you need to no if its a genuine or clone,is it the starview 2 (the box)?
18 vents = clone
25 vents = genuine
13 vents = 1st generation

vents are the slits on the top of the box from top to bottom

left scart = Clone
Right scart= Genuine

 

it has the scarts on the right side,and it has the 25 vents counted them the other day,do i have tp rig it up to a computer and change all that info

 

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w the box Software Uploader), found in the box software folder of the link.

You will need version 4.50 firmware for GENUINES found in the box firmware folder.

ok thanks,got all that the cable that was sent with this product the rs232 cable can i not use those to do the upgrade,i dont have the port on my laptop to connect them,i need a computer

right u connect cables up to computer and to the box,how or where do u look to find the files,how do i find them,what do i look under,or should it open automatically

what or where do u locate thr gtrom loader file,for the box,its mentioned a lot but nobody says where u find it,or download it from
