i have my mates genuine starview 2 that died recently after about a years use, i replaced this with a starview 1 clone which i had for nearly 2 years working perfectly before i gave it to him and within a month or 2 the starview 1 also died. does anyone know why this happens? from what i read here it needs to be jtag'd, is there anyone in south dublin that can fix these 2 starviews and how much would it cost, thanks in advance.

thanks for the quick reply, when i try to turn on the starview 2 nothing happens on the tv and there are no lights at the front of the box. the starview 2 had the ireland 450eE firmware from the beginning and was not updated after that.
with the starview 1 clone the tv screen will flicker for a second like it does when a working box is turned on but will stay black. the lights do not come on at the front of this box either but it sounds like there is power going to the box when you turn it on.
the starview 1 clone had just been updated with cryptstar 1.4 core firmware.

The wrong firmw@re was put on the SV1 b0x, thats why its dead.
you should have used the Crypstar V 1.4 - Core 2.57 bin for clones.

sorry for not writing the full firmware name for the sv1 clone but the firmware i put on it was Crypstar V 1.4 - Core 2.57.
i bought the sv2 within a week of them coming out and i got a few of them in that delivery and none of the other ones have died so far.
could it have been caused by a power surge or maybe poor ventilation beacuse if 2 slightly different boxes die in the same place when none of the other ones died, it has to be more than coincidence, doesn't it? thanks by the way for your help, i'd be lost without this site.
