Hi , Ive currently got a Starview Clone & Starview Genuine .. On the clone box i get a pixilezd Screen with a "0" or "8" showing up on the LCD. IS there an easy fix for this ? On the genuine box ive got no power, ive searched the forum for an "IDIOT Guide" and no luck .. could any 1 please point me in the correct direction ... Thanks Darren
If you click the 2 links below my signature you will get the downloads you require and An idiot proof guide to help you, read this one first! any probs get back !!!
Ok for the clone you need to download this one: CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin and for the other one, you will need to turn it on press menu, press system info, and tell me what it says!!!
The other one (Genuine) has no power this is the one im more intrested in fixing to be honest mate .. Any help
Sorry about that... Didnt see the no power till i posted.... I think you will need to chec k the box itself, could be a fuse or something simple... or worse.. and you dont want to go there... A Jtag!!! check the obvious first and let us know!!
Dont want to send you wrong... give me a couple of minutes and i will see wht the best thing to try>>>
Jaysus dont thank me yet!! LOL right from what I can see your looking to see the C11 capacitor on the PSU board, to see if its blown, if it is then it has to be replaced heres pictures of it, and see if theyre ok,: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363#3216144 You can buy replacements in Maplins
You dont need to Jtag it, just change the C11 cap. Up the voltage from 10V to 16V as its a while since I updated the instructions and have asked Martin to update the pic.
sorry for double post ... does it have to say "c11" ive got one here green sayin 16v (RH)i got it when i bought the wrong JTAG .. i bought a eurovox insteed of starview lol.. and that come with it ..
Just changed it .. is it the one next to the on off switch (on that circut board) No luck .. its changed no power HELP lol
Des gave you the link earlier http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/725/svcapfixpnggv2.png You symptoms are indicative of a cap failure, although if this is not the problem yes you can Jtag it.
