please help me regards records....once i have recorded then go to my harddrive it will not play message says no jpeg file ? harddrive is fat32 there are files there but wont play ? also when recording it seems to lock the system cant watch any other stations ? anyone shed some light please
have you got the latest file loaded to it? http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-59/latest_starview_hd_combo_unit_file-813135/ Is it the cable bit thats causing it or the Sat.
Yes mate all up to date... its only cable i use.... starview 5 no problems.. wish i never bothered buying the HD, 5 is a much better bit of kit...
think the cable recording is causing a prob alrite, seen it mentioned before, like all new boxs some creases to iron out
To watch recorded programs you should be able to go into the USB menu & look in the 'Records' folder. Each recording should then have its own directory that you can access to watch the recording. Alternatively, I think you can just press the play (>) button on the remote to access the list of available recordings. As for the system being locked out when you're recording, it's supposed to do that. As was mentioned in the sales blurb etc. you can record one channel & watch a different one, provided they're both on the same transponder (i.e. frequency). To record one channel & watch ANY other channel would need a twin cable tuner in the box. While recording, press the OK button to access the list of available channels. You can then select a channel from that list. Note:- There is still a bug with this feature in that it doesn't always list every channel that's on the same transponder. It seems more reliable with recording from FTA channels at the moment.
Recorded files will not open error states jpeg file not supported ? Is there anyone out there that has it working ?
Tried everthing listed already... i even tried pressing play lol.. starview HD Doesn't allow you to play what you have recorded.. giving you an error "jpg file not found"
Are you looking in the 'Records' Directory then the sub-directories under that? Is your USB device a hard drive or USB memory stick? Slow devices can cause problems with corruption or erratic playback. Have you connected the USB device to your PC to see what's on there? (Can you post the file names?). Each recording should have 3 files in the relevant sub-directory. These are *.IFO, *.IDX & *.* (i.e. no extension). The file without an extension is the main video file. The others are for indexing etc. The HD Combo is capable of displaying jpeg images (e.g. photos) from the attached USB device. If it can't find any recordings then it assumes it should be displaying jpeg images but if they're not there, then the jpeg file error message will likely be displayed.
my original thread....Bought a starview HD and all is well (once you rearrange channels etc). But when it comes to watching programs you have recorded its a big NO. JUST GET A ERROR "NO JPG FILE FOUND" I've had dealings with every usb starview and never had this problem.. anybody got any ideas?
Mick, as just noted, the HD doesn't put any file extension on the main video file. From MPEG-Streamclip the format is listed as 'MPEG-2 (MPEG transport stream)'. Some recordings can get corrupt, but running the file through MPEG-Streamclip on your PC often does a good job of fixing them.
Is the a fix to enable me to watch directly from my starview box... as you can with starview 4 and 5?
Do you know of this problem with starview hd? and is the a fix? to allow me to watch recorded programs directly from my starview HD box?
