You are probably talking about the Eurovox PVR EX 5000, it has the option of recording to an HDD (only a single tuner though) pause live TV on a timeslip - if that is what you are on about , check it out here, not recommending the supplier, that you will have to make your own mind up about, just put in a search and compare >>>>>>>>>>

    Hi,

    Can anybody please clarify this:

If I have a dvd recorder hooked up to a Starview (1) box, I can record no problem from the SV to the dvd recorder.

Here is my question, can I set it up in such a way that I can record onto the dvd recorder from the SV box whilst watching a different channel? I think I would have to tune the SV box through the DVD recorder but can this be done? Then I would just switch to the SV AV port to watch a channel while my dvd recorded the channel put through the dvd recorder.

I have heard about twin tuner, is this what would be needed or is it possible to do this with just a plain old SV1?

    Get it?

There should be no problem recording to a DVD recorder as long as it is connected to SV via a scart (VCR out on SV) but no you would not be able to watch another channel, and yes you would need a twin tuner box to be able to do that. Why don't you consider the Starview The Box PVR, that has a twin tuner and facility for an HDD, if you really want that option.
