Hi Guys, Just tried to update my starview box, seemed to work as usual, showed up ok on laptop. Now on the box though the lights are flashing at the front once at a time and the box won't do anything else. Tried switching off/on, anyone know if i can do anything, or is it fooked? Is there a reset button anywhere? thanks
Is it an original box or a Starview 2 called "The Box". And what firmware have you updated it with. Your front panel is probably showing four leds like this ----, am I correct?

Thats why it did not work as you have flashed it with the wrong firmware, as the PVR firmware is for a PVR box.Did you use the Gtromloader to load this to the Starview? If you are definitely sure that it is the first starview box, (please check the link at the end of my post marked Starview Info Dobby2oon, then click clones and tell me if you have a genuine or clone box). I will then be able to give you the correct firmware.
yeah is does appear i have a clone from that picture of the back! i have both the PVR and the gtrom loader, is Pvr for a different box then? thanks for the help
Yes the PVR is for a PVR box. Hence the bad flash you have at the moment. All you need can be found in Eamos FTA Library link at the end of my post. For a clone box you need Version 2.57eE Fixed, (Found in Starview Firmware folder). You will find a full guide in the Starview Documentation folder called Starview Guide PDF. This will show you how to flash your box.
thanks scouser, the box is working again now, is that file the latest update as many channels stopped working a few months ago. Just scanning for channels now!
That is the most up to date firmware for a clonebox. This firmware automatically finds the keys for you. Hope you get all your channels back

hi all, can anyone tell me what the best and most up to date firmware is to use on my starview {clone}, is there any that works well in stopping it from freezeing every now and again? i tried v4.00 but it killed my box and im in the process of getting it jtaggd with the help of someone else at the min. hope ye can help lads.
There is only one firmware that will work on clone boxes it is the v2.57eu which is available to download at the eko site on the bottom of my post if you put any other firmware like v3/v4 on it you will kill your box again so you have been warned
