I've got a Starview 2 which I use to watch TV on my computer.I'm running Vista Ultimate and have firmware 4.54 loaded on 'The Box' and onboard Realtek sound. I have the Starview connected to the computer via composite video and the audio via the RCA (red/white) connectors. I've also got a Microsoft remote control linked to the Starview with an IR Blaster and channel changing works OK except for a problem with Windows Media Center, the audio and video are out of synch. I also use Cyberlink PowerCinema v5 and everything works perfectly, audio and video in perfect synch. I would prefer to use Windows Media Center as I can use the EPG for channel info and to schedule recording on different channels. Although PowerCinema has an EPG function I have no source to connect it to, so I can record on one channel but not change channel unless I'm in front of the computer. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the synch problem. I've tried SPDIF (Toslink cable),SCART (the computer has a SCART connection) s-video without success. Anyone got a clue as to what could be causing this problem with Windows Media Center?
If you disconnect the starview from your computer and connect it directly to your TV does it still exhibit the sync problem? I have come across starviews with this sync problem before and fixed it by doing a factory reset and rescanning all the channels.
Thanks captclint, The Box works fine connected to the TV directly and as I said everything is fine with PowerCinema, the problem only exists with Media Center. I'll try the factory reset. I might also try an earlier firmware and see what happens. Thanks again. Apologies scOuser, thought I might be hijacking someone elses thread.
