starview need help

lads only back from holidays starview is down only picking up 30 chanels out of 176 have done factory setting and the usual stuf any ideas

 

Do a factory setting then turn it off from the back and turn it back on again , select english and do an auto scan , make sure the EMU key is ON

did not work when i go into factory setting ask for code put in 0000 then followed your instruction all channels failed

 

Try it again , you will get a good few channels failing but let the scan run till the end , do not stop it and it will pick up the channels

Hi Knowledgeable peeps! I have been trawling through the threads to try and find out why my starview has slowly being losing channels to the point where I now only have about 35 that are watchable. I am getting a bit confused though, my API is ver 2.57_E and it used to work fine. Do I need to update? If so how can I do this from my laptop, which only has usb connections and a socket for an external monitor? If my API is okay, does anyone know what I might do to fix it as I have tried the factory reset and switch off at mains but it doesn't make a difference! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you count the vents on top 18x7 is a clone and 25x7 is a genuine

 

Hi, Ive counted the vents and its a clone.

 

You need to update to 2.57 fixed you will find this in the Starview firmware section of Eamos FTA Library at the bottom of my post.

you will need a null modem cable and a serial usb port adapter.

Its quiet easy to do , go to Eamos site and download the GT ROM Loader and the firmw*re 2.57_fixed

When you have everything you need come back and we will get you up and running with the latest version

u will find the EMU when u
hit menu. then parental control , then ( v important) hit info when it ask for password, type 2004 . a new screen will appear.it will have nagravision etc on it . go down to EMU and right click on remote and put it to on.
then exit back to a pay channel. eg s*y sports and it will update to about 260% . then you will get your channels ...
