Hi all. I am looking for some help please. A friend of mine brought up his first generation starview today and we are here trying to get it going. The problem is that when you go in to nagravision to make sure that the correct codes are on it everything on the screen keeps blinking. So when it comes to input of the 00 keys the numbers just keep chasing up and down. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance
Sorry scouser had to go off line for a while. Scart in properly and firmware is version 4.00e_E, boot ver 7.0.
Yep I have tried mine and his remote on his starview. And yes I also have the starview with same software on it.
If he has version 4 he does not need to see if his codes are correct as they should be as this is autorolling firmware. There seems to be more than a code problem, is he receiving any channels?
Yeah thats what I thought too. We have just managed to get it to auto update but does not seem to move from 0%. It's been like that now for about 5 mins. By the way appreciate your help.
Have you checked that the codes are correct for your provider and area? You can check them here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363
These are the codes that are on my starview Line 00 = A9 86 6E EA 39 EA 09 49 Line 01 = 9E 40 85 78 E7 82 10 06. However when you go into nagravision on his to see if they are the same as mine they are different. I cant change them as everything just keeps chasing on the screen
I know what you are saying I have not come across this before. Have you tried a factory reset and then a reflash, as the firmware may be corrupt.
Cant do a factory reset because when I tried before it just kept saying 37 programmes found and then when I went to turn key EMU on it keeps jumping to on off on off. When I press ok to turn on nothing happens and just keeps jumping. Maybe I should try a re flash
Thanks scouser for taking the time and effort in working through this. If I get it sorted I will let you know. Thanks again
Hi scouser sorry but am back again. Have all channels now but no sound on any. Also when I key a number to go to a particular channel it will not allow me. I can only use the scroll up and down to get to desired station. And if I keep my finger on the volume I can hear very faintly the sound on the channel.
Unplugged it for a while then plugged it back and hey presto stations there. Have not done a reflash but still when I go into nagravision everything is still skipping and jumping
OK try this turn off from the back again, then turn it back on while holding the on/off button at the front of the Starview. You may have to do this more than once. Failing this it does sound like a hardware problem.
Scouser you are a gem. It worked but I had to take off the cover as the buttons on the front of the box itself seemed to jam so I had to gently prise them out.
