Hi, Can anyone help fix my SV PVR box it doesn't boot (display shows "ON")? I've had my SV PVR for close to a year now and untill recently it was working a treat! But for the last month or two it's started freezing and have had to turn off/on to fix. It looked as though it may have been over heating (as its in an entertainment unit) so i added a couple of fans to help extract the hot air. I also got into the habbit of turning it of when not used. It seemed to solve the problem... Untill now!!! When turned on i see "ON" on the display and thats it. No Picture (TV says "No Signal") Cannot put into standby! Tried to re-flash it but just get COM port dead, message. Please Help
Hi Have you tried unplugging from the mains then back in again? If you still get the ON message,From the problems you are having I would say it needs flashing with latest S/W but if Com port is dead, sounds terminal, you could try the jtag route but not an easy task, take a look in the link below http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon/ jbvid
Hi I've tried removing from mains. I was hoping someone would know how to fix without having to jtag, not looking forward to attempting that soldering!!!! Also tonight i have been checking a few things and noticed that if i connect a HDD to power & IDE then it will not boot, but if i disconnect the IDE (power still attached) and turn off/on, then the HDD springs into life! I have not changed my fimeware for a number of months so seems strange, the it would be at fault? Any ideas??? Cheers
Make sure your incoming cable goes in to Cable 1 Input (top right of the four sockets that are together. The loop cable goes between Cable loop 1 output (top Left) and Cable 2 input (Bottom right)
Hi If your TV screen says 'NO SIGNAL' it must be a scart problem you have between the PVR and the TV, but you should still be able to use the remote to get into menu's, are the remote batteries OK? jbvid
I've borrowed a friends SV box to test the cables and they are all working fine. I've also tested the board, to make sure there is power to the COM port etc. Everything seems fine. Cheers
