    Hi all.

Purchased a Box PVR unit from Wizard in the week. Having a few problems with it.

    1. Won't flash.
    2. Can't switch on Auto Updates. I'm using the i2007 code - nada!
    3. Won't recognise any HDD. Tried 2 drives that I've had lying around and they format in Windows perfectly fine.

Had a Starview 2 unit before so I'm pretty familiar with flashing and the like.

Could this be a duff unit?

    Many thanks!

    Hi
Have you done any reading or just jumped in? You may need the updated F/W installing first (v4.506 Oct)
The PVR is a lot different to the ordinary SV box. Have a look in the TheBox PVR folder for F/W and a good read in the Documents folder in the link below.

Thanks for pointing out the documentation folder. Didn't see that before.

Able to flash to the firmware you suggested and format the HDD. Thanks!

Although I still have one last problem. I've turned on Auto Updates but I can't view the premium channels. Is there something glaringly obvious I have missed out?

    Thanks again for the pointer.

    Hi
Which do you mean by the premium channels? Do you mean you can't clear/watch any of the encrypted channels at all or specific ones?.

    I can view BBC1, 2, 3 & 4.

All the others are encrypted. Scrambled Channel message pops up.

    Hi
First (due to incorrect info in the manual) make sure you are in the correct socket at the back, you need to be in the block of 4 together set, not the Aerial cable socket. You also need a short loop cable connected between the two tuners (they are marked up)
You may only need to turn A/U Auto Update on (Starting at item 2)and not have to re-scan if your cable and socket connections are as above.

    1. Before doing a scan Goto Menu / Installation and make sure the (Cable Network Option) top item is set to your local provider if not correct it by using the right / Left arrow keys on your remote, then move down to Autoscan and wait till it has finished.

    2. If channels not clearing goto Menu / System Setup / Press ok when the Parental Control line in yellow is highlighted then press i then 2007, this should take you the the CAS SYSTEM. (May need to do this a couple of times quite slowly with your remote to get into CAS SYSTEM) When you are there and Nagravision 1,11 is highlighted in Yellow Press ok, On the Provider ID Line select your provider by using the left/right arrow buttons on remote then press the LAST (load default)button on your remote, then the OK (Store) wait for it to save then press exit, exit. (Your provider needs to be the same as the one you selected in Cable Network Option above.
Finally make sure Autoupdate is On (This is the EMU) (Bottom Item in Cas System.) Got to a scrambled channel and wait.

    Hey,

Can anyone help?! All is set-up on my new box pvr, hdd installed but no channels. I have the cable in the cable 1 input, the loop through is there. I cant seem to get into the CAS system though.

i 2007 will not work, it works fine on another box pvr i have in my own house but this is a new one in my sisters house. Would they have changed this code or got rid of this facility by any chance??

Any help would be much appreciated...

    Hi
Is the suppliers cable live at your sisters house ie any signal ?? Suggest you try your good box on your sisters cable before going any further.
No use trying to scan or get into the Cas system if you have no signal and no channels to view.
You may also have the FTA (Free To Air) software installed in your new PVR, You need v 4.506 Oct. Look back in this PVR thread for where and how to install new F/W Firm Ware. (eko4shared.com)
