I'm having a problem with Starview PVR recording. Using fimware "oxPVR_E_v4500_06Jul" and Maxtor 80G IDE drive. Sometimes recordings work fine but sometimes I just get a single steady frame on playback.

    Has anyone else seen this?

    More info...
The recorded files are there on the HDD (I can see them in the directory via PC USB connection).

I have the cable looped through both decoders and can view one channel while recording another, so this is not the issue.

It could be one of the decoders not recording correctly to HDD, any way to test this?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hi
You could do a tuner test to see if it is one of the tuners that is giving you your problem (1.buy disconnecting the loop cable, then do a test recording, then 2. by placing the main cable input to the other tuner and do a test recording on that one. If its an intermittant recording failure which I have occasionally the symptoms are that the recording won't play back at all (just locks up on me). A way round this problem I found was to erase the recordings (Not Format)pretty regularly when I had about 8 to 10 films after watching them of course. Trying another hard drive helped also.
