Hi All, having trouble with a starview pvr not working. i suspect it could be a blown fuse on the powers supply in the unit. but can't find it . i don't think its a software problem as i last installed it at christmas. All i did resently was plug it in as normal and nothing happened. Any ideas thanks
i had a look at a starview2 for a guy (his box was dead)there are no fuses inside.so i assumed some part of the power supply board inside the box had shorted,i would think the pvr version power supply board is much the same,you could try to relace the board(i suppose you could buy one and fit it your self)or pay a guy to check out the circuits and find and replace the shorted out ones.but might be cheaper and easier to purchase a new one(as they are quite reasonable these days).with most things electrical these days they have 3 pin plugs with a fuse in side(so if anything goes wrong the fuse blows and your equipment is ok)with most of these boxes they have 2 pins and no fuse and no fuse inside either so if the box got a surge of power(it would probably kill it)of course it could just be old age also,after all these boxes are on in most houses 24/7.good luck.
