Just setup my PVR box. It seems to be setup correcly. I have the cable loop connected to cable loop 1 output and cable 2 input. My cable signal is connected to Cable 1 input.

I can record and still watch some other channels, except channels that are next to the channel I am recording. If I go further up the channel listing the channels will come in and the box continues to record the correct channel. I've also noticed that if I do a split screen I lose all the channels until I restart the box.

The box has the v4500 6th July software loaded.

    Any ideas?

    Hi
Can you please explain what your main problem is as I cannot follow what you are asking for help on or what you can't do ?

When I record a channel Some channels appear as no signal. It seems to only be the channels that are next to the one I am recording. All other channels are fine.

    Hi
You must have trouble with your second tuners signal strength. You should be able to set a channel recording with the red button on the remote then move to next channel up/down and press red button to record that channel also. To check if recording both press i button on remote, this should show two channels being recorded in upper screen left and right.
    STARVIEW PVR RECORDING ISSUES
This is for PVR problems with Lack of recording, Blocky, Jumpy or pixelated recordings, Freezing recordings and No playback of recordings.
Your incomming signal strength is the MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR and MUST be good.
Assuming you have a good incoming signal strength from your supplier and no splitters, no long runs, old cable or joins to start with, the problem will be, that because you have two tuners connected (second with loop cable) the second tuner has a lower signal strength than the first tuner which has the main input cable connected. You can do a test for this by disconnecting your loop cable and doing some recordings from tuner one only. If this cures your problem you could do a further test by using a splitter to feed a cable into the loop socket (second tuner) Then do some test recordings. You do need to be using a decent 7200 rpm IDE drive, if not get one and try before doing the above tests.
A final VERY IMPORTANT TIP that really works is to switch the recorder off then on again prior to setting any pre-recorded EPG timer recordings and delete any unwanted watched recordings to keep the Hard Drive as low as possible on stored data.
Samsung Spinpoint drives have a good reputation in PVR's if you need one or don't have one in your's yet.

    Nice one!

Think it might be a cable strenght issue. I do have my main cable joined to sevral small cables. So ill buy a new longer cable to see ifthat helps.

Got the cable sorted and I can now record and watch other channels without any problem. I am also able to record two channels at once.

I still have a problem using the split screen (yellow button on the remote). When I do that it will show one (sometimes 2 channels) the other two say no signal. When I exit out of this all of the channels now say no signal and I have to turn off the box to get them back. Any ideas?

    Hi
I am using version 4.506 15th Oct (its in the D/L section) and when I press yellow I get (Multi Pictures) come on screen with a 4,9 or 16 picture selection available. I am then able to select an individual picture of the 4, 9, or 16 using the right arrow then ok button. Try doing it without the loop cable fitted (Tuner one only) if OK on Tuner one it looks like you still have signal strength problem. Try using v4.506.

Try looking in the StarviewPVR/Firmware folder??
If its still the same it will still be your signal strength low, but you may as well update the firmware.
