    Have a look in Eamos FTA Libray at the bottom of my post. You will find info on the PVR there.

    Also make sure your cable is plugged into the 'cable socket' and not the aerial socket (its easy done, I did it) needs to plug into the one marked in the bunch of 4 sockets together at the back, also don't forget to fit the the short loop cable (also marked) then try a scan on YOUR provider in the menu system.

    The StarviewPVR only
    Menu/System Setup then press ok when Parental Control is selected, then press (i) on remote followed by 2007, you may need to do this a few times to get the correct speed for entering (i 2007). When you do it right it will take you to the CAS SYSTEM menu where the only check you need to do is make sure the Autoupdate Option is set to ON. You should never have to enter keys into the SV PVR at all as it always autoupdates so you won't need that menu much if at all.

    Hello Folks. TOTAL newbie here. I have just got my Starview TheBox PVR. I never had any idea how much is involved in getting these up and running. Having read some of the information on the forum, I managed to load firmware verion "BoxPVR_E_v4506_15Oct". My problem is as follows:

    1. Is the firmware the latest version?
    2. What are the codes for (in the forum) and do I need them?
    3 If so, how do I enter them into the box.
    4.I have tried every "speed" possible to get into the CAS menu and have not had any luck. Does anybody have more detailed instructions (including how many seconds to wait beween each key entry)?

    The information on the forum is very good. However, being a total newbie and possibly a bit brain dead, I need help.

    Hi
    1= yes
    2= no
    3= n/a
    4= TO TURN AU AUTO UPDATE ON
    To get into secret menu. Specific to The StarviewPVR only
    Menu/System Setup then press ok when Parental Control is selected, then press (i) on remote followed by 2007, at an average sensible speed, you may need to do this a few times to get the correct speed for entering (i 2007). When you do it right it will take you to the CAS SYSTEM menu where the only check you need to do is make sure the Autoupdate Option is set to ON. You will never have to enter keys into the SV PVR at all as it always autoupdates so you won't need that menu much if at all once set to Auto Update Option is set to ON.

    Hi jbvideo. Many thanks for you kind input. I am still stuck at the "Parental Control" option. I have tried every speed possible but the system just shows the same old "System Setup" screen with the following options:

    Parental Control
    S/w Tranfer
    Factory Setting
    System Information
    Menu Lock OFF

    I tried entering i 2007 "at an average sensible speed" but the silly thing is just sitting there. I know its me, but any hints as to what the sensible sprred is woul be apprciated, i.e. 1 second between clicks or 3 seconds etc?

    Thank you for you patience and apologies for being a pain.
