starview seems to have died ??

    hi all not sure if this problem has been covered here ...but i have searched the forum for answers and not found any ?..... i have had a starview box for a year now with no real problems ....but i got up this morning and is just saying no signal on every channel .....the wierd thing is that the box is on a split feed with my normal cable tv and that is fine ?? i tried to rescan the channels but it found zero ?? i have reflashed it ...i have tried a direct cable feed into the box.. i have done emu check and default check but all i have now is the language menu when first switched on and main menu but no channels whatsoever anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong ....i have tried switching on and off and all the cable connections ? thanks

    Hi petepogo.

    Are you by any chance in the Dublin area ? I have a Eurovox and exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday afternoon.tried doing all the same things you've done but so far no joy.I'm waiting for the good folks on this forum to come up with a solution or at least a reason for me .

    hi ..... no i am in the west midlands near wolverhampton ?? i cannot work out why it has just stopped with no warning ?

    Have you opened it up and checked that all ribbon cables are pushed into their IDE slots as a loose connection may cause this. One thing on the front display what does it say when you power it up?

    Not any problems I know of in the Dublin area. Before you done a powerscan did you clear all your current channels first?

    when powered up it has "on" displayed.......... have looked inside and everything seems fine ??

    When you turn it on does the language menu come up immediately?

    yes the language menu comes up straight away mate

    Have you tried this when the language page comes up.

    Press ok to select English
    Press OK again to select Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit

    I know you probably have.

    yes i have done that it goes through all the search but fails on every block ??

    Let the Auto Scan run thought till the end , Try the other providers also , N*L , TW ex C&W

    Make sure you have your cable in the "Cable Input" socket and do it from the main feed with no splitters

    Have you tried putting the cable in to the TV to see if you have a signal ?

    yes i have done all of the above ....i am beginning to think the boxes tuner has died a death ??

    Ok try this method


    Menu > Factory Setting
    PIN 0000
    OK to delete

    Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on

    English > Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit


    Also , Press Menu > System Information and tell us what the API is please

    ok done all of that ..... it goes through the channel search but finds nothing ..... api version is 4.00 7 june 2007

    Ok press the default key and scan on all providers, exN**, C** and telepest.
