    Hi.
I just got my starview box. I plugged the ntl cable (analogue) into the back of the box and then hooked this up to the back of the tv using the 3 coloured cables (red, yello, white). I got it up on the screen and performed the scan but only got ~30 channels. I asked a mate about it who said its because i have no digital signal coming into the house. is this correct? i thought thats what the box was fro, to convert the analogue signal into digital.
Can anyone offer any advice me on this?
    Thanks.

Where are you based and who is your provider, as you got around 30 channels you may be digital, just need more info to help you out.

Hi Scouser. I am based in South Dublin and my provider is NTL.
    Thanks.

What part of Dublin as I presume all N** areas in Dublin are digital. Make sure to scan from the direct incoming feed. Do a factory reset, turn the box off from the back switch then back on again, then scan again.

stillorgan / mount merrion area. well i actually did that just before i ran the scan. I ran the autoscan. maybe i should try the manual scan? how does my setup sound in terms of cables etc?
my mate who told me i need digital said i have to get a digital box from Ntl. i'm trying to avoid having to do that also.
    Thanks Scouser.

I presume your cable is live though and yes it is digital in your area. You seen to be using the composite ports, why not just use a scart connection from the box to the TV for both sound and picture?

well i didn't have a scart cable. so you are saying there is no need for me to order an NTL dgital box? by live i presume you mean working, yeah it is we get the normal 16 or so channels with it presently.so the factory reset might be the way to go....
