starview super just states '0' on display

    got my starview super about month ago and im not happy, watching it for 3hr and it rebooted itself 2 times, but understandable as i heard they do this sumtimes, so i flashed it new software, was fine for 2week then started 2 do it again but wen it rebooted was ok for 1min, then went blank and displayed '0' on the display and if i press 4(example) n just sed that nothing else and wudent turn on, bloke who i got it off ant anwsering the phone and it's doing my head in, any help welcome plz. got access to big maq toolbar so can get differnent software if needed

    Where did you get it? Sounds like a capacitor is gone but I have never changed one in a Super well at least not yet. I dont know wheter there is a C11 cap or something similar on the PSU board, although I would think there is.

    Bit early for a cap to go as well.

    hey scouser reading around about this cap issue ,is it caused by power surge,and powering on and off boxes and if it is ,use a protection device on plug and coaxial cable would reduce this problem.

    Probably me that said that a long time ago. The caps are affected by current load at start and surge, but they are bad/cheap caps and generally need replacement either way.

    lolol starview 1 here, after one c11 replacement it is still going strong.

    Must be 2 years now, cant say it was a terrible investment.
