Starview super problem

Can anyone help with this problem please. I have a brand new starview super that wasn't plug-and-play on it's arrival. I've flashed with latest wotsitsname but when doing a full automatic scan there are ZERO channels showing up. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

THE BOX Super, API ver:6.01e_E, Boot ver :8.0, 7.Mar.2008.
So, It looks like I've flashed the box okay but still no channels from a full automatic scan. Also, the parental control and channel edit options are closed to me for some reason. I've tried a factory re-set by typing in 0000 and pressing delete but it's staying the same. Can anyone help/ has anyone had this problem?

Hiya, yes it's the box super. Belongs to a friend who just bought it. I bought the same box for a neighbour a couple of months back and had to return it because it was stuck on language page and wouldn't shift at all. This one seems to be giving a bit more options. I can shift between language page and main menu, (minus parental control and channel edit.

 

are there 2 options to plug in coaxial=cable input,make sure u select correct provider when scanning,coaxial straight from wall to box

 

Thanks Cactikid, just re-checked the cables, it's wired up correctly and i've selected the provider, still nothing getting picked up, this is very strange.

 

and u do have cable ,not aerial on roof?

 

I think i'll just try reflashing this box before giving up but i see on the downloader there are 4 ports. Would choosing 2 3 or 4 make any difference to the download? Not sure what these are?

Also, could someone please refresh mmy memory on doing a factory reset so i can bring back the parental control and channel edit buttons? (not that they're useful for anything at the minute lol). Thanks again )

 

Hiya, I do, this is a friends new box. I have a SV1 which is completely in my power, I know it inside and out now, thanks to the regulars on this site .
That's why i'm flummoxed with this one. This is the second box super i've looked at, first one was returned to seller and it looks like this one might be the same.

 

if u saw box downloading it is correct as wrong port wont work,and because u have no channels found part of menu out of bounds

 

Thanks Cacti, I'll have another go at flashing then stop. I'm half wondering if my friend has been sent the same box I posted back a few weeks ago lol. Or, is this a recurring problem with these Super boxes? I have a sv1 and it's a great wee machine. I'd recommend the older ones over the newer models anyday.

 

Just noticed when the downloader says download complete the box is saying Fl_r. Tht wouldn't be flash error would it?

 

Hi Sky , try and update it with the 7.05 , it is most stable at present and see if that works

 

Hi there, thanks for the help. I just flashed it with 7.05e and it works now, BUT, the channel numbers are haywire. At first they were all channel 3000, now they've changed a bit but I can't move bbc1 to position 1 for example. There is no channel 1. Lots are like this. When i edit and try to move a channel into position it's taking whatever number with it, if you know what I mean.

I've had a browse and tried to get a version 8 to download but to no avail, I'm either finding a dead link to it, or I can't unzip for some reason. Edit here cos i'm getting confused lol. I just tried one called 709 beta too but it failed 3 times.
It's good the channels are there i suppose, just glad it's not my box, i like my telly channels to be where i put them ). Thanks again for all the help guys and ladies.

 

The SV3 autosorts to match the VM channel list, good for some but not for people who like to have their own channel list
