Hi, Just bought a Starview 'the box' and cannot access the secret menu to turn on the emu. It has 7x25 vents so i preume its an original box. The system information is: API:4.54e Boot ver:7.0 22.Oct.2007 I have tried menu 1570 which doesn't work, and also menu, info,2007 which also soesn't work. Do i need to update the software?, i can do this if some kind person would advise what is the latest version, or maybe a link to it? if not could someone advise what the secret menu code is. Menu then 1570 is the way to the EMU Try it again SLOWLY and make sure you point the remote at the b0x and not the TV lol Also my opinion , the older firmw@re is more stable than 4.54 as you are probally missing the logo file You can find info and links here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/663923
I have another Starview box (the first version) so i know how to work them. It definately wont accept menu 1570 and when the box is first turned on i get 'the box' logo appear. Anyone? Should i revert back to an older version of firmware then?
see if u get it this way press ok on parental control go down to second pin and put in 1.6.6.8 or 2.0.0.4 or 0.0.0.0 try them all if u have to see if you can get in then if you have no second pin option id say it came unflashed and you will have to flash it and you can find it here http://www.4shared.com/dir/3042613/f6e3421c/sharing.html 4.50 ire 4.51 uk
Ok i did all that and got a second option so it must of been flashed, none of the codes worked but i have tried 2004, 2007 and 1668 before i posted. i have just factory reset the box and re-scanned again, got 403 programmes and still couldn't access menu 1570. I will flash the box with 4.51 and see if its any better. I will report back once i have done it incase anyone gets the same problems.
Ok, i just flashed the box with uk version 4.51 did a factory reset and then re-scanned. I got 403 programmes and can now access menu 1570. I turned emu on, went to sky sports 1 then just left it to update, which it did in about 2 minutes. So it looks like it was the 4.54 version that it came shipped with that was causing me the problems. Thanks guys for your help.
yes as celt said it was probably a missing logo but stick with 4.51 its stable glad you got it sorted
