Hey all, first post, I have had a PVR box on the go for a day or two now thanks to you guys on this forum. Although i have noticed a few small niggles with it and i am not sure if its my fault or the boxes. 1. When watching back recordings the regularly stammers once in a while i.e sound repeats itself then the sound dips for a second then back to normal. if i rewind back to that bit it does the same so i know it got recorded that way. I am using a 40gb Seagate Barricuda drive (all my big drives are all SATA). 2. Is there a way to stop the box changing channels when a recording starts. A tad annoying having to change the channel back. Also noticed when something is recording on tuner 1 and i am watching tuner 2 i have to cancel the tuner 1 recording to change channel. Any way around this. 3. The EPG takes ages to load sometimes usually having to load from blank even though the box has been on for ages and crawls browsing when populated. Is this normal? 4. Is there any news about newer firmware being released noticed the latest is dated oct 07. cheers in advance for replies/advice
Hi First remove any splitters if you have any in your line,(these drastically reduce signal strength) and give many Starview problems, you can replace them or it after you have done some tests to proove your problems out. Then 1. If same change the Hard Drive or suffer the stammering. 2. It shouldn't do this, which version of firmware do you have, v4.506 is better and recommended. Not sure about the second part re changing channels, but could be your F/W version. 3. Slow EPG is normal on S/V's If you already have v4.506 Oct installed there is a Beta Version 3.01 in the link below you could try, some like it, some hate it, I prefer it. There are no new releases or news about any ATM. To find your present Software version press Menu/System Setup/System Information.
