starview the box pvr

hi got a starview box pvr e_ver4.506.15oct 2007 can not excess the secret menue and can not get any chanels anyone please help tryed i+2007 does not work thanks

 

If channels not clearing goto Menu / System Setup / Press OK with Parental Control highlighted then press i then 2007, this should put you in the CAS SYSTEM. (May need to do this a couple of times quite slowly to get into CAS SYSTEM)
But if you are in the UK then there is no Auto updating firmware working at the moment.

Well you know more than we do then , where did you get that information from, there is no official release of any firmware for THE BOX PVR, you are confusing it with other Starview model like the Starview 2 The Box (Fix out) Starview 3 The Box Super (Fix out) The Box PVR (NO fix out).

 

is this the usb box you use a memmory stick on

The november F/W in the box pvr folder is a beta version but does not have a cure for the latest VM attack, you need to get the keys and put them in manually using malci's post 2 method. Use search messages, on site top of forum in yellow or google keymaster.exe.

My TCB.cc toolbar is telling me that a fix for STARVIEW THE BOXPVR AU is out and available for download(9/12/2008), can not find it yet

 

That might be why u cant find it! afaik theres been nothing for the pvr, i dont even know if there will be one, would be good if somebody could tell us IF one is being worked on!

yes the fix is out for the starview the box pvr, it is on the tcb toolbar under files & fixes

Im sure that is the old firmware and I already have that loaded

 

Double clicked on the link and got it to download.

Anyone tried this fix yet? Does it work?

The files and fixes on my TCB.cc toolbar does not show that firmware only the old one

Turned computer off,restarted and the fix has now appeared ,must have come when I was online and did not updateI will try the new firmware shortly.

 

please let us know the results! if ive not heard anything by the time i get home, ill give it a try and let you guys know.

 

my friend has the box usb and iv down loaded the fix onto it for him and his is up and running found out that you get a few chanels duplicated but he was made up to get it back on and all his channels back as he only got it 2 days before it all went off

 

The box usb is a completly different box to the box pvr Typhoo. Thanks for trying tho

Downloaded the fix,same as typhoo,but on the box pvr, a few channels duplicated but they seem to be all there.The EPG has changed for the worst,if your scanning the channels the programme changes with you. Did a upload channel dump before the fix ,downloaded it after,nothing,channels all over the shop,plus seem to have german instead of english. Will keep trying.
