starview the box, scrambled or bad channel

hi i'm a total newbie, i can no longer recieve any channels apart from normal freeview ones. all i get is the message 'scrambled or bad channel'. i hope this is a common fault, can anyone help?

 

Very common have a look around. Press menu, type 1570 on remote and turn key emu on.

Got him Eva, although he is making me doubt myself

 

He doesn't have internet access at home, so can't try your suggestions because he posts while he is at work and then tries stuff when he goes home. So that was why he kept asking the other day. He must be chor*s mmds, the area must be split or something.

 

Yep head scratching alright although he has the new DVR box, which makes it even harder to discern between the two areas.
